Used cars imported to Australia are shipped to all major maritime ports of the Austalian continent, i.e. Adelaide, Brisbane, Darwin, Fremantle, Melbourne, Sydney. Age Restriction

When importing used vehicle to Australia, age of the vehicle does not matter.

Road Worthiness Inspection

Import of used cars from Japan for Australian citizens living in Japan

For all Aussies living here in Japan, there is a way to send your car back home to Australia. If you own a car in Japan for more than a year, you can import it to Australia. Note that the vehicle must be registered in your name in Japan.  Importing a used car to Australia can be relatively tricky as the import regulations are strict. We would strongly recommend to contact Australian Goverment in order to obtain nessesary information and application documents.
